That's Hartford, Connecticut there filling out the shape of Texas.  This New Yorker cartoon, by Jack Ziegler, isn't one that'd find itself in any Texan publication... except, published in 1990, this was likely done as a commentary about President George H. W. Bush claims of being from Texas.

Jack Ziegler from the New Yorker in 1997. Clear enough?  Actually Mr. Ziegler resorts to military and map themes with considerable frequency.  We'll see more of him here.

When was the last time the world saw a war that actually changed borders? Kosovo? I guess the Russian-Georgian scuffle kinda, sorta did that... I suppose.

Atlas on eBay

From back in 2000 when eBay was still a relatively hot new thing we have Jack Ziegler's Atlas on eBay. Remember last year when candidate McCain propsed income through eBay as a way to avoid or forestall the nation's economic woes? Is that working o0ut for anybody out there?
