These two episodes of Betty by Gary Delainey and Gerry Rasmussen ran over a year apart, but they almost seem like they could be from the same story arc, right?

Sponsored GPS
From Betty by Gary Delainey and Gerry Rasmussen. This has got to have already happened to one of you, yes?
It very much reminds me of a time a few years ago when I was driving in the car with my son and the conversation maneuvered itself into a place where he was explaining to me the directions of how to get to some place we had been talking about. All of his directions were in reference to restaurants.. Things like "2 blocks past the Burger King" and "Turn left at the McDonald's"... only he wasn't only referencing fast food joints, he was also mentioning the smaller local joints... places I never noticed and often I had no idea which places he was even describing. What's more, we had never, ever been to any of them. We'd been to Taco Bell... a local burrito chain... and a food cart.... and that's it. We don't watch TV either, so he couldn't have learned of those places that way. But he was giving me all these directions using all these restaurants as if we knew all these establishments intimately. I was a little spooked, and very amused.

How to embarrass your teen with Google Streetview
Is this a case of oversensitivity on the part of the teen or insensitivity on the part of the parents? From Betty (by Gary Delainey and Gerry Rasmussen)
By the way, photobombing Google Streetview is a rather popular prank to play around the world. Here's a pair in Norway who have made quite the splash on the internet:

Saskatchewan you to sleep
So this is part two of the Betty (by Gary Delainey and Gerry Rasmussen) that so improbably involved the story lone about Saskatchewan from March of 2010. The rest of that week of Betty shifted to a storyline about Betty taking strategic naps in order avoid interacting with her family. So not even these cartoonists could stick with a "riveting" Saskatchewan story line for very long, resorting instead to a story arc they hoped was less sleep-inducing.
To be fair, I'm going to include a link to the official Saskatchewan tourism website: http://www.sasktourism.com/. I don't know if it will help. Saskatchewan is like a gigantic, less populated, somewhat colder Kansas... or Nebraska... or Dakotas... or any of those Midwestern states.
I'm just gonna say here and now: I do not expect to see another Saskatchewan map-themes comic as long as I run this blog. Please try to prove me wrong.

Saskatchewan again?
Let's finish off the week with some Betty, by Gary Delainey and Gerry Rasmussen. This will be a two-day portion of a story arc that ran in March of 2010. The most odd thing about this I think is that it's the second post that involves a map of Saskatchewan. Go figure.

Carnegie GPS
This episode of the comic strip Betty, by Gary Delainey and Gerry Rasmussen is from the same story arc in 2007 as the other one about the purse. And that is an old, old joke.

Golf GPS
A strip from "Betty" by Gerry Rasmussen & Gary Delainey. I'm not that into golf. But geocaching is fun. I've got to believe that golf courses have apps or downloads that allow golfers to upload the tee and hole coordinates into GPS units and/or smart phones. If this doesn't exist yet it should. Here's a rather sophisticated version.
