Berzerkistan
In this Doonesbury from November of 2007 Gary Trudeau his first geographical character, the fictional nation of Berzerkistan. Since it's introduction Berzerkistan, and more importantly it's deranged dictator, have been rather useful for a number of story arcs, most recently a storyline that ended with the extraction of the embattled dictator by the Red Rascal when he fell victim to popular uprisings. While it's unlikely that the map of Berzerkistan will ever be featured again in Doonesbry, there's a good chance it will figure again in some future story arc. By the way, there's been plenty of other plays on the "-stan" name characteristic in that neck of the woods.
